Welcome

The Pompton Valley Music Teachers Association is commited to advancing the musical education of students, enriching the lives of the community, and professional development for our members through recitals, master classes, lectures and workshops.

These core values contribute to the nurturing and supportive environment for teachers, students and their families.  The professional, yet friendly atmosphere is conducive to musical and personal growth allowing the students to build their performing confidence throughout their formative years.  Awards and scholarships are presented to students at various levels of achievement.

Presidents Message

I would like to invite piano, voice and instrumental teachers in the northern N.J. area to join us as members of PVMTA.  Our supportive yet professional environment welcomes you.  As an Active Member you will enjoy the convenience of entering your students in monthly recitals according to their schedules as well as master classes twice a year.  Our Wednesday programs include lectures and workshops for teachers and are designed for the exchange of ideas amongst the members and to advance our professional development.  Also on Wednesdays our schizo club is another outlet for you to perform in a friendly, encouraging environment.  As an Active Member, you may enter students in recitals and master classes and are encouraged to attend all of our Wednesday programs.  Associate Membership is also available for those not entering students in activities.  Associate members are encouraged to attend Wednesday programs and are welcome at all events.  I look forward to meeting you and sharing our camaraderie and passion for teaching music and enriching the lives of our students.

Al Roberts, President PVMTA
